Cross Eure-et-Loir and Loir-et-Cher

From the source of Loir in Eure-et-Loir join Saumeray and travel 28km to arrive in Châteaudun, a city full of history.

Go back to your itinerary to reach Cloyes-sur-le-Loir and its famous mill. 18kms further make a stop at Fréteval or Morée, two  lovely villages where you can relax.

Vendôme, Montoire, vineyard …

Ride 15km to join Vendôme, stopover town also called “the garden city”. From Meslay to Montoire, make 30kms of Loir Valley by bicycle and enjoy the coolness of troglodyte dwellings.

23kms further in Ruillé-sur-Loir a throwback is waiting for you. Then, stride along vineyards during 22kms to join Château-du-Loir.


Château du Lude or zoo de La Flèche ?

Le Lude is located 28kms further west. Take advantage of this stop to visit its famous castle (still occupied) and its garden magnificently decorated by Madam Countess de Nicolay. You will then stride along the green way and its 40kms of safe itinerary on old railways.

Entirely different atmosphere at only 22kms from there, with a stop in La Flèche where you can visit the Zoo de la Flèche, which became famous further to the tv programme on France 4 “Une saison au zoo”.


A detour in Baugé ?

And why not make a little detour in Baugé to visit the castle and its impressive apothecary’s shop.

Or follow the itinerary by Lésigné. Then travel 28kms to join Briollay which is the penultimate step before arriving in Angers located at 20kms.
